Artist Statement
My collection of brooches, Wzór, brings forward colors and shapes reminiscent of my childhood. I was inspired by the unique colors and simplicity of the vinyl. I then paired the vinyl with a variety of different hand carved wooden pieces. I created the designs for these pieces through automatic drawing and trusting my hand to make the initial decisions for me. Organic shapes became the framework from which the rest of the elements were built upon.
