Lisa Krulasik was born and raised in Glendale, New York and graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelors in Fine Arts focused around jewelry in May of 2016. She is currently studying diamonds and colored stones at the Gemological Institute of America.
Her first jewelry collection, Istota, embodied her passion for jewelry and reptiles. It consisted of hand carved exotic and domestic wood elements, cast bearded dragon and snake skin sheds, and incorporated fabricated elements in fine and sterling silver.
Lisa's most recent collection of brooches, Wzór, brings forward colors and shapes reminiscent of her childhood. She was inspired by the unique colors and simplicity of the vinyl. These were then paired with a variety of different hand carved wooden pieces. Lisa created the designs for these pieces through automatic drawing and trusting her hand to make the initial decisions for her. Organic shapes became the framework from which the rest of the elements built upon.
